Are you still looking for a beautiful tree for your garden? Would you also like to help the bee?
Then choose a "nursery tree"
Huh? Nectar trees? 🧐These are trees that provide food (=nectar) for bees in the form of pollen and nectar.
See one you like? Now you can get even more wallet-friendly bare-root trees.
1. Salix Alba - the native pussy willow: you can also use the twigs as a base for wreaths (win win 😉)
2. The Tilia - Lime - it seems that with a good nectar flow a bee colony can easily collect 20-30 kg of honey in 14 days - hallowkes! Often used as a standard tree - the standard lime... if you don't have much space!
3. Ornamental cherry tree (Prunus) - you are already doing yourself a gift just for the blossom 😍 Most of them also have beautiful autumn colours.
4. Amelanchier lamarckii. No space? No excuse! This one fits even in the smallest city garden as a shrub. White flowers in the spring - afterwards edible black berries good for the birds and a beautiful orange autumn colour - what more could you want?! I already have three in my garden.
5. The honey tree (Styphnolobium japonicum) - because it is often difficult to find flowering trees in September - it can provide a lot of nectar for bees
This list is of course not exhaustive. There are many other nectar trees.
