Hibiscus acetosella "Mahogany Splendor"
Hibiscus acetosella "Mahogany Splendor"
Under the motto "you can never have enough cut greens" this plant is a very good addition to your cutting garden. An absolute must have for me, a favorite for years.
Hibiscus Mahogany Splendor is a "cut-and-come-again" plant, so you can keep cutting it for use in bouquets.
I also place this hibiscus in flower pots that I fill with dahlias and other annual cut flowers. That works perfectly as long as you keep the pot moist enough.
The plant is actually a frost-sensitive perennial but I treat it as an annual. Sow in spring from March at an ideal germination temperature of 20-25 degrees. Plant out after mid-May when the danger of frost has passed.
