Centaurea cyanus or Cornflower

Dark pink almost red color of the double cornflower.
As a hardy annual, cornflowers benefit greatly from sheltered sowing in a cold greenhouse/conservatory in the autumn. This way you have taller, sturdier plants in the spring. But you can of course also sow these in the spring from February.

Feel free to keep cutting this plant, so you always have new stems. The bees love this too. Excellent for naturalising.
