A distinctive white-and-green tulip that heralds the arrival of spring early 🌷

Tulip ‘Exotic Emperor’ is an elegant spring bloomer with beautiful creamy-white to white flowers, subtly finished with fresh green and sometimes soft yellow accents.

The full flowers have a loose, almost peony-like appearance. The green markings on the outer petals make Exotic Emperor just a little different from a classic white tulip.

And there is another reason why I love this tulip so much: it flowers wonderfully early.

Exotic Emperor is one of the earliest tulips in my collection. Depending on the spring, it can as early as March begin flowering. I have grown it myself for several years, and some years I was already able to pick the first flowers in March.

That is truly something to enjoy after a long winter. 🤍

How to plant Exotic Emperor

Plant the tulip bulbs in autumn, preferably between October and December, in well-drained soil.

Plant them approximately 10–15 cm deep, with the pointed end facing up.

For a beautiful and natural effect, plant several bulbs together in a group. Exotic Emperor also looks stunning in a spacious pot, alone or combined with other tulips in soft shades.
