Eryngium Planum - Cross Thistle

The cross thistle or Eryngium Planum has bright blue stems and blue-grey flower buds. They are very popular with pollinators and you can perfectly dry or cut this flower for your bouquets. Watch out for the spikes ;-)

For best results, sow this Eryngium in the fall. This plant prefers full sun for better flowering and in not too wet soil.
