Gomphrena globosa white - Ball amaranth
Gomphrena globosa white - Ball amaranth
This globe amaranth or Gomphrena globosa is a super cute addition to your cutting garden. They are ideal for drying, retain their color and shape perfectly. I like to use them in bridal work to make boutonnieres.
They are not the tallest among the cut flowers but these cute little balls make you forget that quickly. That is why they are also perfect for putting in pots. The best yield is when you put globe amaranth in full sun.
Height: 60cm - especially in well-drained soil.
Sowing: Sow in a sheltered place in your seed tray from March - April. Plant out after hardening off when the risk of frost has passed. Ideal germination temperature between 21°C and 26°C. Gomphrena globosa germinates at this ideal germination temperature between 5 and 14 days.
