Snapdragon - Antirrhinum majus 'Potomac Orange'

Don’t just call this beauty “snapdragon.” Potomac Orange is a true cut flower classic, beloved by professional florists. With its sturdy stems, refined blooms, and warm apricot-orange hue, it adds color, height, and style to any bouquet.

🧡 Unique color: warm orange with apricot tones – radiates elegance
📏 Height: ± 90 cm – perfect for cut flowers and at the back of the border
✂️ Top quality for the vase – stays beautiful for a long time, even in warm weather
🌞 Sunny spot? Jackpot! The more sun, the better the bloom
🐝 Attracts pollinators – wonderful to watch a bumblebee crawl inside!

Chrisje’s sowing tip: Be careful, these seeds are tiny, like dust. Handle with great care when sowing. Do not cover snapdragon seeds; they need light to germinate. Want long stems from this snapdragon? Sow them in an unheated greenhouse or cold frame in autumn and transplant in spring. Or sow from February for blooms a little later in the season. Snapdragons germinate best at 21°C–24°C within 7 to 14 days. Pinch the seedlings (top them) for extra branching!
Half-hardy / hardy down to -5 degrees frost.
